Chemical Peel Before and After

What are the different types of chemical peels?

There are 3 main types of chemical peels which include superficial peels, medium peels and deep peels.

Superficial peels: This type of peel uses mild acids such as alpha-hydroxy to exfoliate the designated areas gently.

Medium peels: A medium peel uses acids such as trichloroacetic or glycolic acids to reach deeper into the skin than a superficial peel. This peel reaches the middle and outer layers of skin and therefore is more effective when trying to remove damaged skin cells.

Deep peels: Deep peels are made up of phenol or trichloroacetic acids and are used to reach the middle layer of the skin and penetrate it to remove any damaged skin cells.

How much do they cost?

The price of a chemical peel will depend on a range of factors. The two most important being what type of peel it is, whether it be a superficial peel, medium peel or a deep peel and also, the clinic you visit for the cosmetic treatment.

Chemical peels can be done at home however, these are nowhere near as effective as visiting a clinic for this procedure.
